DBS is a Speech Pathology private practice helping children build the communication skills and confidence they need to thrive at home, at school, and everywhere in between.

With NDIS, Medicare, and private funding options available, sessions can take place in-clinic or in your home, whatever works best for your family.

MEET THE DIRECTOR

Emma

Emma has over six years of post‑graduate paediatric experience and has worked with children and families across Australia and the United States. She has extensive experience supporting children with neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, cognitive difficulties and Specific Learning Disorders. Emma also works with children with acquired communication disorders, including those related to complex trauma, cancer treatment and other medical conditions.

Emma is passionate about evidence‑based, culturally responsive and holistic practice. She has particular interests in language, speech and literacy, and is committed to functional goal‑setting and interventions that make a meaningful difference in everyday life.

Emma holds a Master of Speech Language Pathology from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Speech, Hearing and Language Sciences from Macquarie University. She is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with Speech Pathology Australia. During her time in the United States, she held the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) with the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association, New York State teaching certification and additional specialist credentials. Emma is also actively involved in clinical education, supporting students from the University of Sydney and New York University.

Above all, Emma is committed to creating a warm, supportive environment where children feel confident, empowered and able to enjoy the therapy process.

Outside DBS, Emma works for a non‑for‑profit focused on rural and remote healthcare. She also enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring Sydney’s restaurant scene and practising yoga.
