SPEECH

We use our lips, teeth, tongue, palate and voice to make speech sounds so people can understand what we say.

Some children find speech tricky. They may have difficulty:

•  making certain sounds

•  putting sounds together in words

•  hearing or noticing the difference between sounds

•  thinking about how speech sounds work

Some children struggle with only one or two sounds. Others have difficulty with many consonants and vowels, which can make their speech hard for others to understand.

•  Speech Sound Disorders

•  Phonological Disorders

•  Articulation Disorders

•  Childhood Apraxia of Speech

•  Dysarthria
